The Running Dead History
Running races of all types have become staples of the American fitness landscape. Races provide individuals and families a great way to enjoy the benefits of an active life and do something fun at the same time.
ZOMBIE races pick up on the craze for Zombies, which is probably an outgrowth of the "Walking Dead" TV phenomenon. Adding costumes, makeup, creepy volunteers on the course and other features such as costume and "beauty" contests makes the ZOMBIE Run even more fun.
This fund raiser allows Rotary to contribute to major projects for youth and education. The first year focus raised money for the Bay Area Community Foundation's Imagination Station play area on the river front.
Following the great success of the first Zombie Run, the club follows up in 2016 with a variation on the theme and a new location. The race moves to the woods and fields of the Michigan Sugar Trails on the middle groud. There will be new challenges, new scares, and new features.
As Rotarians and as members of the public, you are invited to participate.
It's time to get scared!
