What is the "Running Dead Zombie Run?"The Running Dead is the most unique running and walking event in the Tri-Cities. Taking place on the new "Sugar Trails" located South of the bridge on the middle grounds park, the event is a great family activity that introduces you to a new and natural area open to the public.
This exciting October happening will provide all with a screaming good time while raising funds to support conservation and recreation projects of the Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy. These projects will improve recreational and natural lands for all members of our community!
Won't you help us to support this cause? As Bay City's newest unique zombie themed event, "The Running Dead" will feature a 5K run/walk, family events, and a "Freaky Fun 1 mile Run/Walk". This will be the only race in the area to be held on the Michigan Sugar Trails.
Zombie makeup will be available from the "Face the FX" Make-up Club before they retire to the Historic Masonic Temple for opening night of the Haunted Temple.
There will be Zombie costume awards and Kreepy Kids activities.

The Running Dead History
Running races of all types have become staples of the American fitness landscape. Races provide individuals and families a great way to enjoy the benefits of an active life and do something fun at the same time.
ZOMBIE races pick up on the craze for Zombies, which is probably an outgrowth of the "Walking Dead" TV phenomenon. Adding costumes, makeup, creepy volunteers on the course and other features such as costume and "beauty" contests makes the ZOMBIE Run even more fun.
This fund raiser allows Rotary to contribute to major projects for youth and education. The first year focus raised money for the Bay Area Community Foundation's Imagination Station play area on the river front.
Following the great success of the first Zombie Run, the club follows up in 2016 with a variation on the theme and a new location. The race moves to the woods and fields of the Michigan Sugar Trails on the middle groud. There will be new challenges, new scares, and new features.
As Rotarians and as members of the public, you are invited to participate.
It's time to get scared!
