Join us as we welcome Gretchen Wagner, Bay-Arenac ISD Director of Early Education & Supervisor, School-Home-Community Partnerships/Early Childhood Education and Rich Vantol, Great Start Director. Together, they will share insights into the critical role of early education in shaping student success, how school-home-community partnerships strengthen families, and the impact of local Great Start initiatives on children across Bay and Arenac counties.

We’re pleased to host Melissa Preston from the YMCA of Bay City, who will share how the Y is building stronger communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Melissa will highlight the Y’s local programs, partnerships, and initiatives that support families, promote wellness, and create opportunities for connection across Bay County.

We’re excited to welcome Shawna Walraven from the Bay Area Community Foundation, who will share how the Foundation is making a lasting impact across Bay and Arenac counties. Shawna will highlight the Foundation’s role in connecting donors with community needs, supporting local nonprofits, and driving initiatives that strengthen education, quality of life, and economic vitality in our region.

We look forward to Rotary Vocational Day in November, led by Sara Parker, Co-Chair of Rotary Vocational Day. Sara will share details about this long-standing tradition, where Rotarians and students come together for a day of career exploration, mentorship, and community connection. She’ll highlight the impact the event has on local students and how Rotary’s commitment to vocational service continues to inspire the next generation of leaders.

Join us for a Club Assembly led by our Club President, where members will come together to review this year’s goals, progress, and financial outlook. Hear from Jim Reha as he shares the story of the USS Edson, a Cold War–era destroyer now preserved as a floating museum in Bay City. Learn about the ship’s history, the sailors who served aboard, and the efforts to keep this national treasure alive for future generations.

Join Sara Dimitroff, Economic Development Project Manager, and Shelli Thurston, Economic Development Marketing Manager, as they share how Bay City is growing and attracting new opportunities. They’ll highlight current projects, future plans, and the marketing efforts that help position Bay City as a place to live, work, and invest.

In recognition of World Polio Day on October 24, join our own Chuck Cusick for an important update on the progress toward eradicating polio worldwide. He’ll share where we stand today, the challenges that remain, and how local efforts connect to this global fight.
