Peter Sinclair is a Michigan-based videographer, specializing in climate change and renewable energy issues. He has created hundreds of educational videos correcting climate science misinformation, including his independent "Climate Denial Crock of the Week" series, and the monthly "This is Not Cool" series for Yale Climate Connections, which has run since February 2012. His videos, recognized by experts internationally, have established Peter as a frequent speaker on climate change, renewable energy, and communicating science. In 2017, the National Center for Science Education recognized Peter as a “Friend of the Planet”. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Peter lives in Midland, MI. |

Join The Rotary Club of Bay City and cycle away polio. On October 23rd beginning at 10am, we will be cycling on the NEW Bay Zil trail. Pledge $20 to the fight against polio and join other Rotarians for a fun fall morning. We will be biking 10 miles and there will be turn around points for a 5 mile ride and a 2 mile ride.
After our ride we will meet at the pavilion for refreshments.
Social distancing is encouraged.

With 36 years of educating students, Bay-Arenac Community High School is one of the longest running alternative high schools in the state of Michigan. We serve students from Bay and Arenac counties, who are considered at-risk for not graduating. In 1985 BACHS was chartered through the Bay Arenac ISD as an Alternative program. |

Nancy Williams, Center Director, will talk about Great Lakes Dyslexia, which opened in December of 2000. It is one of 47 centers int he Northeast quadrant of the United States and enrolls children ages 6 to 18, with a 92.4% success rate in bringing children to meet or exceed their proper reading grade level in 2 school years. They are a 501c3 charitable organization and are currently located on the fifth floor of the Scottish Rite Masonic Center at 614 Center Avenue. The Children's Dyslexia Centers, Inc. is a non-profit, Sec. 501 (c)(3) corporation of the Supreme Council, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. The Learning Center Corporation was established in 1994 as one of their charitable outreach programs. River Jordan Inc's mission is to empower current and former foster youth to take responsibility of their own individual lives and become productive members of society. They provide wrap around support services for current and former foster youth regardless of age. Their transitional housing, peer support and life skills services are evidence based. Their goal is to prevent homelessness, human trafficking, drug addiction, and suicide among youth when leaving foster care. Their prevention and wrap around services include peer mentorship and support, life skill training, relationship building, and transitional housing. Their prevention goal is to work with youth before they age out of foster care by connecting them with community resources and helping them build the skill they need to be self sufficient after transition out on their own. Their continuum peer support and life skill services are lifelong regardless of age. |
