HAPPY NEW YEAR ROTARIANS!
We kick off this new year with a new meeting location and a new President! At our first meeting at Drift, we thanked Past President Chris Girard for his year of service by presenting him with an outdoor communication board that will be dedicated in his honor at a local park. These boards help young children, non-verbal children, and adults communicate their needs. Please find an example below.
New President Erv Hutter swore in his new Board members that were present and then addressed the club with his intentions for the year. There are some adminstrative changes as Shelli Thurston is our President-Elect and we welcome Kelly Kent as our President-Nominee. Carrie Strohkirch will be serving as Secretary for the club and a new board member will be added to fill the empty seat of Kelly Kent as a director at large. Please reach out to Erv if you are interested in serving on the Board.
The first goal is to re-engage members that we have not seen in some time. Now that we are meeting at Drift consistently, he hopes to see Rotarians new and old at upcoming meetings.
President Hutter would like to engage our sister city Rotary clubs for connection and projects. Rotary is an international organization and with sister city clubs in Germany and Canada, we can be the link to nurture these relationships.
Lastly, President Hutter is eager to book and promote engaging programs to showcase the importance of Rotary and to re-engage members. Programs will be updated on our website calendar, Facebook and Instagram pages, and in a bulletin each month. Please share these on your social platforms or reach out to members, and non-members alike, to join you at a meeting.
