Rumi is a co-founder of New Hope Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University and his MBA in Policy Studies and Finance from the University of Chicago. After working for 15 years in investment banking & corporate strategy roles, Rumi founded New Hope Partners to meet the needs of seniors in their communities. He resides in Saginaw Township with his wife Jennifer and three children Alia, Amaya, and Jibran.

Rumi is also extremely interested in lifelong learning and wellness.  He will be discussing the concept of the Blue Zone movement, where people live the longest, and are healthiest: Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Nicoya, Costa Rica; Ikaria, Greece, and Loma Linda, California.

Mohibullah Israr came to CMU as a Rotary Global Scholar more than a decade ago. He hoped to return to Afghanistan to develop educational opportunities for all. As we all know, the situation in Afghanistan changed. Israr and his family now live in Mt. Pleasant. He serves as the Country Director-Afghanistan for the Lamia Afghan Foundatiion which assists Afghanis resettliong in the US.

As you drive down Water Street behind Brennan's Marina, there's a big building next to a pile of rocks. What do they do there? Or, head toward Essexville, the sign says Bay Cast. Fishing tackle? Max Holman joins us to reveal the secrets of the building on Water Street and dispel the myth that Bay Cast sells fishing tackle.

Come hear Paul and Brandy Wiese tell about their experience at the Rotary International Convention in Houston last June. 

Matt is the research and development manager and leads community affairs for SK Siltron CSS.  He will be presenting general information about the company, ownership structure, the large announced project in the Valley Center Technology Park in Monitor Township, and the future of the semiconductor industry.  He will also facilitate a question and answer period after the presentation.

Diane Mahoney, President of the Bay Area Community Foundation, will bring an upodate of teh many ways in which the foundation enhances the life of our community. She will be joined by her staff who will share details of Give Local! on May 2.

Drew serves on the Rotary Board of Directors and will participate in the District 6310 Leadership event on Wednesday, May 3.

Drew joined Rotary in 2001 at age 20. He served as president of the Rotary Club of North Rockland (Haverstraw) at age 25 and was at that time the youngest president in the club's history. At age 32, he served as governor of District 7210. "For anyone who says that you have to be retired to serve in these positions, I'd like to show that there is another path," he says.

Drew has served RI on the Young Past Governors Committee, as a representative to the Council on Legislation and Council on Resolutions, and as an RI president's representative. He also has held zone leadership positions including chair of the Zone 28/32 Summit, assistant Rotary coordinator for Zone 32, and chair of the Mid-Northeast Presidents-Elect Training Seminar. Committed to continuity and collaboration, he is a member of the District 7210 executive board, a committee he helped establish that is made up of past and current district leaders who work together to lead the district.
